"I teach Choral Music and Musical Theatre at SMHS, and direct the fall and spring musical productions. I attended WCU for both my undergraduate and graduate degrees and have taught theatre, dance, and music in the Western NC region for 17 years. I love teaching music and theatre because I believe firmly in the power of the arts for young people to practice empathy, develop valuable real-world skills,  and contribute positively to their world. I love teaching at SMHS because the students and staff are truly top notch— there is a strong sense of community and support for one another. (Plus, I’ll always be a Mustang at heart— SMHS Class of 2007!)"
