The Class of 2018 will graduate Thursday, June 7th at 7:00 pm at the WCU Ramsey Center.

When we begin having Senior Meetings and Graduation Information is finalized, the below information will be updated for the Class of 2018.

The Class of 2017 will graduate Thursday, June 8th at 7:00 pm at the WCU Ramsey Center.

Graduation Events Timeline:

                                 Wednesday, June 7th 2017

  • Graduation Practice is at 1:00 PM at the WCU Ramsey Center
    -Graduation Practice is MANDATORY, if a senior misses Graduation Practice they will be unable to participate in the Graduation Ceremony

                                 Thursday, June 8th 2017

  • Senior Cookout is at 12:00 PM at East Laporte Park in Cullowhee
    -Seniors are encouraged to come and spend time with their classmates and celebrate, food and drinks are provided by SMHS faculty and staff.
  • Seniors should arrive to the WCU Ramsey Center at 5:45 PM to prepare for the Graduation Ceremony
  • The Graduation Ceremony begins promptly at 7:00 PM


**Update 5/17/2017:
*Clearance Forms due to the Student Support Center
*Plans after High School Forms due to Ms. Amanda Aldridge in room 1 (including all scholarship offers)
*Any photos you’d like included in the Senior Slideshow (must be photos from your last 4 years in high school) can be brought to Ms. Amanda Aldridge in room 1 or emailed at aaldridge@jcpsmail.org

                 **We understand that some students will still need their computer for testing and will be unable to have their clearance form signed before May 26th. We are aware of who those students are and will accept their clearance form ASAP- Thank you!**

**Update 4/3/2017:
We just completed the Senior Graduation Meeting. All students received graduation information, announcements, and a schedule for graduation events. They also received: a letter to parents about graduation, their plans after high school form, and their senior clearance form. All forms are attached below. Students were also able to vote for their graduation speaker. Students who could not attend have until Thursday afternoon to come to the Student Support Center to see Ms. Brooks to vote, ballots will be counted on Friday.

Other announcements made at this meeting included:
-Cap & Gowns will be delivered next Monday, April 10th during lunch. Students must have their orders paid in full in order to pick up their Jostens order.
-New this year, students can send in photos to Ms. Amanda Aldridge to have included in the slideshow, photos need to be sent in as soon as possible and can be emailed to aaldridge@jcpsmail.org
-Students that have FFs and need to complete work/time in order to complete credits have until Friday, May 26th to complete these requirements and earn their credit.
-Students that are planning to attend Western Carolina University are required to have their deposits paid by May 1st.


**Update 3/17/2017:
All seniors need to be present Tuesday, April 4th at 10:30 am in the Cafeteria for the Senior Graduation Meeting. Information regarding graduation practice, the senior cookout, and graduation requirements will be discussed. Seniors will also be voting on their graduation speaker. Seniors that cannot make the meeting due to an SCC class can come by the Student Support Center to see Ms. Brooks after Tuesday, but ASAP if they want to cast a vote.
