The Class of 2018 will graduate Thursday, June 7th at 7:00 pm at the WCU Ramsey Center.



Graduation Events Timeline:

                                 Thursday, April 26th 2018

  • RISE Time- 9:30 Senior Breakfast sponsored by Student Council
    -Seniors received information and RSVPs at the Senior Meeting on 4/3/2018

                                 Thursday, May 10th 2018

  • Senior Cookout is at 12:00 PM at East Laporte Park in Cullowhee
    -Seniors are encouraged to come and spend time with their classmates and celebrate, food and drinks are provided by SMHS faculty and staff.
  • Students must complete and return their Field Trip Permission Form by Monday, May 7th in order to attend.

                                 Wednesday, June 6th 2018

  • Graduation Practice is at 2:00 PM at the WCU Ramsey Center
    -Graduation Practice is MANDATORY, if a senior misses Graduation Practice they will be unable to participate in the Graduation Ceremony

                                 Thursday, June 7th 2017

  • Seniors should arrive to the WCU Ramsey Center at 5:45 PM to prepare for the Graduation Ceremony
  • The Graduation Ceremony begins promptly at 7:00 PM

4/3/2018 Senior Graduation Meeting.
All students received graduation information, announcements, and a schedule for graduation events. They also received: a letter to parents about graduation, senior cookout field trip permission form, senior breakfast information and they voted for their graduation speaker. All forms are attached below. Students who could not attend this meeting have until the end of the school day on Thursday to come to the Student Support Center to see Ms. Brooks to vote, ballots will be counted on Friday.

Other announcements made at this meeting included:
-Cap & Gowns will be delivered Thursday, April 26th during lunch. Students must have their orders paid in full in order to pick up their Jostens order. Orders can be paid that day in cash, or students can pay ahead of time by calling (828)681-1712
-Students can send in photos to Ms. Amanda Orr to have included in the slideshow, photos need to be sent in as soon as possible and can be emailed to aorr@jcpsmail.org
-Students that have FFs and need to complete work/time in order to complete credits have until Friday, May 25th to complete these requirements and earn their credit.
-Students will receive their plans after high school form, and their senior clearance form in May.


5/23/2018 Senior Graduation Meeting.
All students received their Senior Clearance Form, Plans after High School Form, and a flyer about graduation flower sales. We discussed due dates, finishing the last two weeks strong, and that graduation practice on Wednesday, June 6th at 2:00 is MANDATORY in order to participate in the graduation ceremony. All of these forms are available in the Student Support Center.

-Plans after High School Forms are due by June 1st to the Student Support Center, this form is linked below
-Senior Clearance Forms are due when students complete exams or by June 6th at the latest, this form must be turned in before students participate in graduation practice. This form is also linked below.
-Students were reminded that they cannot alter their cap and gown in any way, and that the girls do not need to wear the white collar that came with their gown.
