SECU Foundation “People Helping People” Scholarship

The State Employees Credit Union Foundation “People Helping People” Scholarship will award a graduating senior a four-year college scholarship valued at $10,000. The SECU Scholarship Program wishes to recognize academic achievement, but the “People Helping People” Scholarship has a much broader purpose; to recognize leadership, integrity and community involvement. Students must have a minimum 2.5 GPA to apply, demonstrate financial need, and plan to attend one of the 16 UNC System Universities. Preference will be given to students whose parents or guardians and family members are public sector employees (state, local or federal government; public health; public education) who live and work in North Carolina. Additionally, preference will be given to those planing to major in public service degree programs (such as Public Health, Education, Public Administration, and Public Policy).

Students must submit the completed application packet, a copy of their university acceptance letter, and a photo (head shot only). Applications must be complete in order to be accepted in the Student Support Center. Applications are due to Ms. Brooks in the Student Support Center no later than Monday, February 25th at 3:00 pm.
